Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Mary Badham at the Pomona Public Library

We had a Mary Badham sighting in the library today! For those of you who don't know, she is the actress that played "Scout" in the movie of "To Kill a Mockingbird." She will be speaking this evening at the Pomona Ebell Museum of History tonight at 7:00pm.
They are standing by our tree in our children's room. From left to right are:
Pat Lambert, supervisor of our reference department, Mary Badham, actress, Jonnie Owens from our Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center, Ms. Nissa, children's supervisor, and Grandma Sue, children's library specialist. It was a real treat to meet her and I'm sure all of you who go to the Ebell Museum will have a great time.

Joke of the day: What would you call an expert in mud wrestling?
Answer: The Wizard of Ooze. :)

I'll try tomorrow, but I have no idea for certain. It depends on if I can change my appointment date with my EOP&S counselor. Hopefully I can!
