Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Good Halloween Fun at Story time

We had a great time today at story time. We had very enthusiastic children having good spooky stories and finger plays. Don't forget that next week, October 28th at 12:15pm, we will have Halloween stories and then we will trick or treat around the whole library! What fun. Be sure to wear your Halloween costume, we will provide a bag. We start out in the children's room and then go downstairs to Technical Services. The public is never allowed down there except for once a year when we get to go through there! From there we will go to Administration, to the pages sorting room, upstairs to the Adult reference desk, and then end at the circulation desk.

Be sure to wear your costumes and frighten the wits out of all of us!

Joke of the day: Why do witches carry cats on their broomsticks?
Answer: Because elephants get airsick! :)
