Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Week 5 of the Big Read

Today was our fifth week in our big read. Our theme this week is friendship and tolerance. We had stories on these themes and then the kids made friendship cards. Our Cal Poly students have been wonderful in their hard work on this project. They are always on time and are very friendly with us all. We really appreciate it!

This weekend I will be in Spencer, Iowa to meet Dewey Readmore Books' Mom. In my previous post on Dewey I shared Dewey's story. When I get back I'll have pictures and more to tell you!

Another joke of the day: What does Tuffy the cat sit on all night?
Answer: Defense. :)
