Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

The Big Read, Week Three

Hidee ho young Pomonans! Week three of our big read went well. The stories were GREAT and so was the craft. It's so nice to have our Cal Poly Pomona students here working with the kids. They just love it. Today the kids made birds to add to the tree they made last week. You can see in the picture that the birds look 3D. If you haven't seen the tree yet please come in. It looks awesome! We have it arched over the entrance to the children's reading area.

If you haven't read "To Kill a Mockingbird", read it or have someone read it to you. It's a great book.
