Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Harry Potter Display at PPL

The holiday season is over and I couldn't wait to display my Harry Potter collection. They have been in the back office and it's nice to get them out. In the collection I have several collector's editions as well as a whole set of the seven books that come in a case. The newest addition is the "Tales of the Beetle Bard" which just came out in December. It is the smallest of the books that has a very ornate cover. Then there are Harry dolls and a Ron doll and two different Hedwigs! Thank you to Kate Roecker (adult reference librarian) who owns one of the Hedwigs for letting me display it with the others.

So come on in and see it! Just remember that these items are privately owned and cannot be checked out! :)

Joke of the day: What did the football coach yell when the telephone didn't return his money?
Answer: "Hey! I want my quarter back!" :)
