Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Mr. Ed to teach us juggling

Come on in to the library today! Mr. Ed comes every year to teach juggling to Pomona kids. It's a lot of fun and it's fairly easy as well. He starts off with the kids juggling scarves. Believe me, this is so much easier than with balls. You can learn the technique by slowly juggling the scarves. Mr. Ed is very patient and encourages everyone.

Mr. Ed Powlesson taught at Mendosa Elementary for many years. He is now at Montvue Elementary School. Come on in and have some fun. We can call it "post earthquake therapy". :)

Joke of the day: Why did the wacky farmer hire a maid?
Answer: To dust his crops. :)

Hi There,

I am a Registered Nurse from Bathurst Australia and I am personally interested in Juggling as Therapy for kids. Do you or Mr Ed have any data or research on this topic? Please contact me on megrick@cirruscomms.com.au
