Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Juggling With Mr. Ed

We had a great time with Mr. Ed this afternoon. We were trying to remember when he first started coming in to juggle with us. We think it has been for the past 15 years at least. Hooray for Mr. Ed!

I couldn't believe how fast some of the kids caught on. He started with peacock feathers and then went to the scarves. Those who could went on to bean bags, some went back to peacock feathers! It really was fun. I have more pictures to add but blogger is giving me problems. I'll try to add them tomorrow.

Another joke of the day: How does a juggler keep his balls in the air?
Answer: By throwing up! (Ha, I made that up myself! Thank you, thank you) :)
