Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Earthquake time

Earthquake time

You never know what is going to happen. This morning, as you all know, we had a moderate earthqake. The library did sustain some damage. Book cases are leaning and there are books on the floor. Because of this we cannot open the library to the public. No story time, no readers theater rehearsal, and no craft. However, Grandma Sue wanted me to inform you that we will still do our ladybug craft next week.

We are planning to open again tomorrow if everything is cleaned up. City hall seemed to have more damage than we did so it depends on when they get to us. We are so sorry this happened but we have no control over these things!

Hang in there and we'll see you tomorrow.

Sorry, I don't have the heart for a joke of the day. :)
