Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Craig Newton, Musician!

What a great time we had with Craig Newton! We love having Craig here because he is so good at what he does. It would be easier telling you which instrument he DOESN'T play than what he can play! He was also fun by involving the children with clapping rhythms. After showing them several rhythms, he said now clap your hands as fast as you can. When they did he said, "Thank you, thank you!" :)

He did many bug songs. The familiar was "There Ain't No Bugs on Me" and "The Ants Go Marching". He did several others and he told me after the show that he had written them especially for the "bug theme." What a talented guy! If you missed the show, don't worry. We will definitly have Craig back.

The other news is that the Reader's Theater began their reheasals this week. What a great group we have and most of all we are having fun. Our show will be August 6th so please plan on coming to support your peers.

All in all, we are having a fabulous summer. Our attendance at EVERYTHING is surpassing anything we have done before. So keep coming in and having as much fun as we are. You all are wonderful!

Joke for the day: Knock-knock.
Whose there?
Zounds.
Zounds who?
Zounds like the last knock-knock joke! :)
