Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Happy Birthday, Greg Shapton!

Oh yes, young Pomonans! Tomorrow is our Library Director Greg Shapton's Birthday. We celebrated it today and we had a great time! Normally Greg isn't shy, so I have no idea why he kept putting cards in front of his face. At least I got him good once before my battery died. ;)

He got many great cards about cats and about being old! (Good thing he has a good sense of humor!)

Joke of the day: Why can't your nose be 12 inches long?
Answer: Because then it would be a foot! ;)
