Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

P.A.W.P.A.L.S. at PPL

Good Tuesday young Pomonans! As you can see we had a great time with P.A.W.P.A.L.S. here on Saturday. Mayor Rothman came and Amelia (our P.A.W.P.A.L.S. dog) was quite fond of him!
I wonder if he read her a dog book?

This coming Saturday we are having Adventure Quest Institute come and put on a program of dog sledding. They will be outside in the Civic Center Plaza in front of the Library. Come out and see what it takes to ride on the Iditarod. Displays include a dogsled, snowshoes, arctic boots and parkas to help bring literature to life. Robert Stadley, a former Disney University presenter, uses his storytelling skills to share his personal experiences racing Alaskan sled dogs. You don't want to miss this!!

Our Homework Assistance Center is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00pm. This center is staffed with volunteers from Cal Poly Pomona. If you need help with your homework, this is the place to be!

Joke of the day: What dog is the best swimmer?
Answer: A lap dog. ;)
