Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Adventures in Dog Sledding Tomorrow!

Good Friday, young Pomonans! Just a reminder that tomorrow afternoon from 1:00-3:00pm Adventure Quest Institute will provide a program on dog sledding. This event will be on the Civic Center Plaza right in front of the Library.

Displays include a dogsled, snowshoes, arctic boots and parkas to help you understand all that is involved in dog sledding. Robert Stradley, a former Disney University presenter, uses his storytelling skills to share his personal experiences racing Alaskan sled dogs. You don't want to miss this!

We still have several copies of our Big Read Book, "Call of the Wild", by Jack London in. Come on in and pick up a copy and enjoy!

Joke of the day: What goes "tick, tick, woof, woof"?
Answer: A watch dog! ;)
