Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

PPL Summer Reading Program Party

What a great time we had at our party! As you can see we had some interesting animals in the children's room! We had a baby alligator, a hegehog, a tarantula, a boa constrictor, a ferret, and a baby wallaby. These animals came from all over the world. I can't remember now which animal came from where, except for the baby wallaby. He/she was from Australia.

Our attendance wasn't what it has been in the past so next year we will work on reaching out and seeing about growing again.

We are still open the same hours: Monday-Wednesday 12:00pm-7:00pm. Closed Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Open 12:00pm-5:00pm Saturday.

Our programs will begin again the week of September 12, 2011.

Joke of the day: What do you get when you cross a camera and an alligator?
Answer: A snapshot! ;)
