Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Congratulations Lizeth!

Good Friday, young Pomonans! I got permission from Lizeth's parents to post about her. Lizeth won a reading award at Mendoza's Dr. Seuss day. She won the award from not just her own Kindergarten class but she won the award of ALL the Kindergarten classes at her school!!

We are so proud of you, Lizeth! We are especially proud because Lizeth and her family are regular patrons of the Pomona Public Library and we count them as our own. Her parents say that Lizeth loves to read. Good for her! That will help you out your whole life, Lizeth! It will help you in school and it will help you learn many things when you read for fun as well.

Kudos to Lizeth and may she be an example to us all.

Joke of the day: How do you learn to play golf?
Answer: Take a golf course. ;)

Lizeth, you look awesome! and I am also very proud of you. I know you will continue to do well in school because you are a reader. I hope you appreciate all your parents do for you, like taking you to the library and seeing Ms. Lois. Remember, the more you read, the smarter you get... not to mention it's FUN! Keep reading! :) Mrs. McMullin
