Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

It's Earth Day, young Pomonans! How many times have we heard to "go green" or "save the earth"? It's all true. If we don't take care of our environment, you won't have any world to grow up in, much less your own children.

What can we do to help our planet? Plenty. You can not litter. You can recycle. Plant a garden. Use recycled products. Talk to your friends and family about what you all can do together to keep our earth clean.

Pomona is a beautiful city. We have trees blue skies and warm temperatures. If we all do our part in caring about the environment, change will happen.

The tree you see posted above is one of my favorite trees in Pomona. It is at Kellogg Park and seems like a very happy and healthy tree. Why not appreciate Earth Day by going to a Pomona park to enjoy our beautiful city?

Joke of the day: Why did the tree sign up for extra classes?
Answer: It need to branch out. :)
