Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

New Computers in the Children's Room!

Hey all you computer savvy young people - there are brand new computers in the children's room.
The headphones now work on ALL computers! They take up half the space of those poor old dinosaurs. We had a quiet moment as they were pushed out and then we ... PLAYED ON THE NEW ONES! Yes, my friends, we adults still can play. But only because we are around you to help us remember. Never forget you are very important to us. So come in and check them out! Well, you can't actually check them out even if you have a library card, but you know what I mean.

I see that a lot of you are working on science projects. We have a whole section of books dedicated to science projects. Make sure you pick a project that you are interested in. There is science in nearly everything and I think you might be surprised at the variety of books we have on the subject. There is science in music and even bubbles. Yes, bubbles. We have a book that shows you how to make giant bubbles. And the list goes on and on...

We have five days left before our Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable. Remember to mark your calendars for Saturday, February 2nd from 1:00-4:00pm.

See you there!!
