Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

PPL Staff Gets Ready for the Big Read!

Good Monday, young Pomonans! This afternoon found some of our staff posing with our favorite books. Behind us you can see the posters for our Big Read: Fahrenheit 451. All of Pomona are reading this book for the month of October and into November. You can also participate in the Big Read by reading your favorite book or reading about fire fighters.

Tuesday October 12th at preschool story time we will be doing stories about fire or fire fighters.
On November 9th our own Pomona firefighters will come to story time and talk about what they do. Cool!

Joke of the day: What lies on the bottom of the ocean and twitches?
Answer: A nervous wreck! ;)
