Hello young Pomonans! As our Homework Help Center comes to a close I'm afraid I don't have very good news for you.
Yesterday Daniel, who is our Homework Help Center coordinator, told us there is no more funding for this program.
Daniel brought this letter with him and posted it for all to see. Here is the letter:
Dear Community Members:
We regret to inform you that the Pomona Homework Help Center at the Pomona Public Library will be closed after June 3, 2010. The Center for Community-Service-Learning at Cal Poly Pomona has sponsored the Homework Help Center through an AmeriCorps Grant since 2007. Unfortunately, this coming year we were not funded due to the difficult budget cuts effecting Cal Poly Pomona. Our Center will not have the funds and staff to support the Homework Help Center next year. It has been a pleasure working with the staff at the Pomona Public Library and the children who have participated in our many activities.

Oh no!!!!!! I'm so sorry to hear this news. Thank you to all the volunteers and staff who made the homework help program such a success. Your efforts made a difference.
Thanks, Pride. These volunteer this year were especially good with Daniel to lead them. He had parties for them and when they were finished with their homework he would take them outside to play games. He worked hard and was very dedicated. Cal Poly should be very proud of him.
