Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Snake craft

Our computers aren't working properly right now so I can't post the pictures of our craft yet. Hopefully soon. We have been so busy preparing for the reading program that we haven't had time to post. That will change when we actually begin the reading program.

Our craft today was fun. We made snakes! As of yet, these snakes haven't frightened anyone. This particular craft was fairly easy. I believe I could actually have pulled this off! (I don't do crafts. I have no talent in that area.)

We will be doing crafts every week this year! Beginning Tuesday, July 1st, we will be offering crafts every Tuesday at 3:30pm for six weeks. Our theme for the reading program this year is "Catch the Reading Bug" so we will be making six different types of bugs. Cool!

Be sure to join us on Wednesdays as well because we will be having six different programs every Wednesday at 3:30pm. I will be doing a post soon about that.

Joke of the day: Why couldn't the sesame seed stop playing cards?
Answer: Because he was on a roll! :)
