Good Tuesday, young Pomonans! This is the Tuesday before April Fool's Day, so we had silly stories at story time. A good time was had by all!

Good Monday, young Pomonans! I took this picture in the library at Mendoza School on my new phone. Then I brought it home and figured how to post this from my computer at home!!! I know this is purly elementary to all of you but it is a big deal to me!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss at Mendoza Elementary School!

Good Saturday, young Pomonans! We had a GREAT time at Mendoza Elementary School yesterday. We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday. His actual birthday was March 2nd, but Mendoza celebrates it on the closest Friday. I should know because I've been going every year for about four or five years. (Time goes by so fast that I've lost count!) Dr. Seuss would have been 107 years old! That's almost as old as I am... ;)

This year the Mendoza students read over 10,000 books!! Yes, that is ten thousand books!!! I am so proud of these students every year and I really appreciate the teachers and Principal, Mrs. McMullin, that promotes the love of reading. These students really get it!

They also give out reading awards. Every class has one student that has read the most books. Then every grade has one student that has read the most for their grade. These children flourish in these awards and parents are there to take pictures. I absolutely love coming here every year to see how much these students have accomplished.

MENDOZA ELEMENTARY, WE LOVE AND SUPPORT YOU!!!!

March 1st is National Pig Day

Happy pig day, young Pomonans! We celebrate National Pig Day every year in story time. Today we had pig stories. We read about Hamilton, Humphrey the Dancing Pig, Albion Pig and Piggies. We had a snortin' good time! We hammed it up and porked out on stories and songs! We had such a good time that we pigged out. Can you think of any more puns? I think this is the end of my tail. ;)

Joke of the day: What bear has no teeth or claws?
Answer: A gummy bear! ;)
