Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Putting Up the Christmas Tree or How Many Librarians Does it Take to Put Up the Christmas Tree...

Hello young Pomonans! Do you think it is easy to put up a Christmas tree? Indeed it is not! The good thing is that we have fun doing it. The advantage this year was that we were closed. In the past you all would come in and ask your Moms, "Why is Ms. Lois and Grandma Sue walking on the table?" We would assure you that we only walk on the table twice a year. (Once to put up the tree and once to take it down.)
We are inviting the rest of the staff (we are bribing them with food) to help us put up the decorations. I'll post those pictures later.

Joke of the day: Why did the banana get a speeding ticket?
Answer: He got caught peeling out of the parking lot! :)
