Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Pomona Airport on Display at PPL

Good day, young Pomonans! Our friend Ren made this cool plane and airport as part of his Scrappy Toy business. He is letting us display this for a short time so please come in and see it. He also made the police car just underneath the airport. He made many of these cars and distributed them around Pomona so the Pomona police would know we are behind them. Cool!

Don't forget that the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable is coming February 5, 2011.

Joke of the day: What do you call a FedEx driver and a UPS driver?
Answer: Fed Up! ;)

Pomona Public Library Has Scrappy Toys!

Good Tuesday, young Pomonans! Several posts ago I mentioned my friend Ren giving us a "scrappy toy" police car to honor our Pomona Police officers. Today he called and wanted to give our Pomona children some scrappy toys to play with at the library. Pictured are a few of them. These can be played with after story times. So come in and give them a good work out. They are made very well and can stand up to many uses. If you would like to see more of his toys, visit him at imagesofpomonabyren.blogspot.com

Thanks to Ren for thinking about the children of Pomona!

Joke of the day: What do Alexander the Great and Winnie the Pooh have in common?
Answer: They both have "the" as their middle names! ;)
