Welcome to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children's Room!

Ms. Clara Webber was the first children's librarian of Pomona Public Library. A long time correspondent with Mrs. Laura Ingalls Wilder, she was instrumental in having the Children's Room named in honor of Mrs. Wilder on May 25, 1950. Today, we house the original hand written manuscript for the novel Little Town on the Prairie. Every February, we host the Laura Ingalls Wilder Sociable in honor of Mrs. Wilder's February 7th birthday.

Jack-O-Lantern Contest!

Great news, young Pomonans! As part of the city's Big Read Program, we are having a pumpkin carving contest!

1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes for 5 age groups:
-under five
-5-7 years old
-7-9 years old
-9-12 years old
-teens

Contest rules for Created Jack-O-Lanters:
-no larger than 1 foot in diameter
-Must be flat on the back of the Jack-O-Lantern
-Materials such as paper, cardboard, paper bags, wallpaper, paper plates, cloth, mesh, wood, plastic may be used
-Ornamentation may be added to the face
